Northwestern University Press is proud to distribute several literary presses across the world. The press handles worldwide distribution for the following presses:
Coach House Press
For the past forty years, Coach House Books has been publishing fiction, poetry, drama and artists' books that push at the boundaries of convention. Since 1965, Coach House has been the home of fascinating literary invention: Michael Ondaatje typeset his first book here, and Ann-Marie MacDonald and Margaret Atwood published some of their early books with the press. Coach House has also been the site of great advances in bookmaking technology: though we still print our books on old Heidelberg presses, we were one of the first presses to use digital typesetting programs, and we were the first press in Canada to offer the full text of our books online in 1997. These days, we're publishing innovative and award-winning works by some of North America's finest writers, including Christian Bk, Nicole Brossard, Michael Redhill, Claudia Dey, Guy Maddin, Sina Queyras, Andrew Kaufman and Darren O'Donnell. We also scour the provinces for new talents. If you want an agreeable shortcut to knowing how Russia's writers see its past, present, and possible future, you need to read Glas. Kore Press
Kore has been publishing women’s literary art as an imperative since 1993, after choosing a name which symbolizes the idea that women are agents of change. Kore (kor-ay) is Greek for "daughter" and another name for Persephonethe goddess taken into the underworld whose re-emergence above ground caused the changing of seasons. We hope the writings we bring to light elicit change, both for writer, reader, and the bigger, collective public mind. By providing this forum for established and emerging voices, as well as writers fundamental to history, we are seeking to keep alive change-making expressions of literary passion, experiment, and collaboration.
As a community of literary activists devoted to bringing forth a diversity of voices through works that meet the highest artistic standards, Kore Press publishes women's writing that deepens awareness and advances progressive social change. To find out more about Kore Press, please see http://www.korepress.org/.
